Long Pepper

Ayurvedic long pepper or ‘Piper longum’ is said to be as feasible a spice as black pepper. Cultivated in the Mawsynram and Shella Sohra district of East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, our piper longum is popular for its dominant piperine component.

Our piper longum is a product of traditional farming techniques implemented by the local farmers of Meghalaya. They opt for pesticide-free farming – as they always have – to cultivate this spice, just like everything else they grow. The use of sustainable farming methods in the ideal environmental and climatic conditions results in the growth of fertile crops.
